Who is Chris Warkocki?
Well, I'm basically your normal laid back guy and for kicks I take pictures. I'm not held down by any one form of photography, but embrace it as a whole. I constantly hone my talents and expand my way of photographing the same scene. To think this all began when I was 8 years old.
When I was 8 my dad hands me a manual film camera that was basically the family heirloom at the time. He showed me the ropes and whenever we went to parks or on vacation I'd have the camera around my neck and a fresh roll of film. Finances really stopped me from indulging much into photography and my passion really didn't start till a about a year ago.
I had a short stint with Canon digital cameras, when I finally decided to dig deeper into capturing the moment. I sat down last year and told myself I'd get a semi-professional camera and would weigh my options with my checkbook. I walked out the camera store with a fresh Pentax K10D and a handful of lenses including the kit lens and a half dozen old manual lenses from the 70s. My adventure truly began February 9th 2007 and I've grown exponentially with my love of photogaphy as well as my skills.
I started to shoot nature photography, which I truly thought was my calling in photography. I loved searching for new things to capture and dug deep into macro phtography as it filled my joy of getting up close and exploring. I also shot for the bar I worked for and a few others and began to get a lot of business doing nightclub photography. This led to my next joy when a young waitress confronted me and wanted to know if I would take some modeling photos for her.
I found a prime location to shoot my first model shoot and the two of us went on for a few hours and enjoyed every second of it. I love people as much, if not more than nature. It seems to fill my passion for conversation and interaction. I enjoyed it so much I have built a generous portfolio of studio and on location model photography. With the love of photography growing my collection of gear has grown to meet the demands of technology.
My current selection of gear could fill a small room and it will continue to grow as my needs change and evolve. The strobist movement has been a big factor in my current style as well some of the neat technology that has become less expensive and more accessible. Every week brings a new challenge and I confront it as best I can with the gear I have and will continue to do so since photography is never a static affair.
What will the future hold for me? I hope to continue honing my skills and improving what I love to do. This site is my way of presenting my abilities as well as my style to the masses. I hope you enjoy looking at the collection presented here and feel free to send me a message.

Who is Chris Warkocki?
Well, I'm a laid back person who loves to capture the moment with his fancy camera gear. I shoot Pentax, which goes with my must stay away from mainstream attitude and it's also an amazing camera system.
I started photography technically when I was 8 years old and my dad handed me my first camera which was a semi auto film camera that was born in the 70s. I ended being the family photographer and showed some nack for the whole pitcher taking thing, but didn't have the money to truly experience photography.
After a short stint with Canon I eventually decided I wanted to grow my talents and purchase a semi-professional camera. February 9th 2007 I purchased a Pentax K10D with the kit lens and an assortment of old manual lenses from the early 70s to begin my adventure.
This purchase began to roller coaster into the gear I have today which includes an assortment of great glass and multiple bodies and a dozen flashes. I've purchased more into gear as time went by and my taste in photography changed as well.
I believed I loved nature photography and shot tons of macro insect and flower photography for the first 6 months with my new camera as well as doing my day job and shooting photos for the local bars. I honed all my skills and was asked one day to shoot a waitress that wanted to be a model.
I had a great time taking pictures with the model that I actually fell in love with it more than I did nature photography. I had no experience in photographing people outside of candids and spent the last 6 months shooting model after model and honing my talents.
I'm now actually being recognized for what I shoot and my style and I hope to continue to bolster my portfolio this year and continue to grow as a photographer. Just wait and see what this up and comer will bring to the table in another 6 months.
